Sandor-Hughes, Avanesyan-Del Rio on Matchroom Spain Bill, 12/12

Matchroom Boxing Spain and DAZN promote a big show at the Palau Olympic de la Vall D´Hebron in Barcelona, Spain on December 12.

On top of the bill EBU super lightweight champ Sandor Martin (35-2) defends the title against Brit Joe Hughes (17-4-1). In the co-feature EBU welterweight king David Avanesyan (25-3-1) make a voluntary defence of the title against Spaniard Jose Del Rio (29-8-1) before taking on mandatory challenger Josh Kelly in early 2020.

In other action national lightweight champion Samuel Molina (13-0) defends the title against Ivan Tomas (9-1-1) and super lightweight Jonathan Alonso (18-1) is in against Venezuelan Samuel Gonzales (22-5).

The IBO have now sanctioned Sven Fornling´s defence against Dominic Boesel on November 16 in Halle an der Saale. At the same time the EBU have again stated that Boesel is not allowed to defend the EBU title against Fornling unless the Swede relinquish the title - and that won´t happen. Mandatory challenger for the EBU title is Igor Mikhalkin, who also holds the IBO interim title.

It´s official: IBF interim female featherweight champion Brenda Karen Carbajal (16-4-1) defends the title against Sarah Mahfoud (9-0) on December 7 in Hillerod (Denmark). The winner will have to fight the "real" titleholder Jennifer Han during 2020. Han is currently on maternal leave though.

Danish light heavyweight Haris Dzindo (11-0) will now face Georgian David Makaradze (17-11-1) on Saturday (November 9) in Vejle, Denmark. The late change of opponent come after Bosko Misic pulled out due to a hand injury. Dzindo vs Makaradze is for the vacant UBF Euro and GBU Continental titles. The show is promoted by Kobra Boxpromotion headed by Dalibor Ban.

Away fighters have done well so far on matchroom italy shows, same thing could happen here

Great news for boxing in Spain. Also for Brit fighters to get some overseas experience. Atmosphere in Barcelona will be terrific for Sandor Martin. I thought Hughes beat Davies in Liverpool so really glad he's getting a chance to win…
