Featherweight contender Salvador Sanchez II has lashed out at WBC champion Jhonny Gonzalez and his promoter, Promociones del Pueblo. There were discussions about a possible fight for July 7th, but Gonzalez and his team are claiming that Sanchez overpriced himself - which Sanchez denies.

He says the promoters for Gonzalez presented him with lowball offers. Sanchez is willing to sign a contract, but he wants at least $50,000 dollars to finalize the deal.

"For starters, they are insulting me and I am no coward. They said we didn't accept the fight, that we were offered 400,000 pesos [$28,800], which is a lie. They Offered me 200,000 pesos [$14,500 dollars] to start and [my manager] Elvis [Grant] asked me and I said it was not a suitable purse for a world championship fight. When I in the United States, I was making $40,000 in eight-round fights. First with James Villa and then with Thomas Villa," Sanchez said.

"Of all those lies, there is one saying that I'm usurping the name of my uncle, that I'm not his son. I have never hidden that I am his nephew, everyone knows that. Some fans have said that I'm Jr. and used it to give promotion to my fights. That's a very different thing to what these people said to disrespect me."

"I always told everyone that I am Salvador Sanchez II, and as everyone knows I'm the son of the brother of Legend, Juventino Sanchez Narvaez, and I have nothing to hide."
