According to reports coming out of Germany, WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter will defend the title against former champ Vitali Klitschko on October 4 at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany. The O2 Arena holds 17,000 fans.
Klitschko fights for the first time since announcing his return to the ring last January. He announced his retirement in 2005 after being plagued with reoccurring injuries. Klitschko has not seen ring action since December of 2004, when he stopped UK heavyweight Danny Williams.
If Peter wins, several fighters have already made him a target, including David Haye, Roy Jones Jr. and Juan Carlos Gomez. There is no word or guarantee that Klitschko will continue his career if he beats Peter. Showtime has been tapped to televise the event in America.
