The World Boxing Organization has approved Orlando Salido (41-12-2, 28 KOs) of Mexico vs. Terdsak Kokietgym (53-4-1, 33 KOs) of Thailand for the organization's interim-super featherweight title. A date of October 4th was previously mentioned, but the fight is now potentially heading to September 20th in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico.
The WBO also cited BoxingScene's recent article where full division champion Mikey Garcia revealed his desire to move up in weight to 135-pounds.
Salido, a former champion, is coming off an upset split decision of Vasyl Lomachenko from earlier this year. Kokietgym has won seven in a row since losing a decision to then champion Takahiro Ao in 2012. The Thai fighter was only stopped once in his career, a 2006 seven round TKO defeat to Juan Manuel Marquez - which ironically was also for a WBO interim belt, but at 126.
