Rubio vs. Majewski For Interim WBC Title is Likely

By Luke Furman

It now appears that Patrick Majewski (21-1, 13 KOs) of Poland will likely face Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio (57-6-1, 49 KOs) for the vacant WBC interim-middleweight title. WBC full champion Sergio Martinez suffered several injuries in April's victory over Martin Murray and probably won't return until 2014. After pushing the issue through arbitration, Rubio was made the mandatory challenger to Martinez's title. Rubio has been fighting to have belt become vacant or at the very least have the interim title at stake in his next fight.
