Rimer Boxe staged a big show October 15 in Madrid. On top - as previously reported - super lightweight Ruben Nieto (18-1-1) went to a twelve round draw with Venezuelan Ernesto Espana (19-0-1) for the vacant IBF Intercontinental title.

Nieto just relinquished the EBU title to go for bigger things and this was a first step. He captured the EBU belt last December via disqualification over Lenny Daws, who was ahead on all three cards at time of the DQ. He then retained the title in July with TKO over Nicolas Gonzalez in seven.

All three judges scored the Espana contest 114-114.
