Canadian cruiserweight Troy Ross is protesting Saturday's loss to Steve Cunningham in Neubrandenburg, Germany. Cunningham won the fight and the vacant IBF cruiserweight title, when the fight was stopped prior to the start of the fifth round. Ross suffered a bad cut in the corner of his left eye.

The fight had excitement with heavy punches being exchanged and Cunningham getting dropped in the fourth round. Ross is claiming that Cunningham thumbed him in the eye at the end of the fourth round and that opened up the cut. He says the fight should have gone to the scorecards and not ruled as a TKO loss, but the referee ruled that the cut was caused by a punch.
