Roman Gonzalez Drops WBA Belt and Targets Reveco

By Pablo Fletes, notifight.com

Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (36-0, 30KOs) has dropped the junior flyweight championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA). At the 92nd Annual Convention of the WBA which is currently taking place in Lima, Peru - international matchmaker Ricardo Rizzo, representing promotional company Prodesa, announced that Gonzalez has dropped the 108-pound crown.

But this announcement was accompanied by an important request. Rizzo asked the WBA to make "Chocolatito" the mandatory challenger to Argentine flyweight champion Juan Carlos Reveco (32-1, 17KOs).

Gonzalez returns on November 10th in Japan in a flyweight bout against Mexico's Oscar Blanquet.
