Former world junior bantamweight titleholder Rodrigo Guerrero returns to action tonight against Michael Ruiz, Jr.

The 10 round bantamweight bout will take place at the Cache Creek Resort Casino in Brooks, California.

Guerrero (25-6-1, with 16 KOs) was victorious in his last bout on December 3, winning a unanimous decision over veteran Saul Hermosillo. In his previous bout on April 16, the Mexico City resident lost a unanimous decision to bantamweight contender Stuart Hall of England.

The 29-year-old Guerrero won the IBF 115-pound title in October of 2011, winning a technical decision over Raul Martinez. He would lost the title four months later to Juan Carlos Sanchez in his first title defense.

Guerrero, who is ranked number five by the IBF, might have his hands full tonight against Ruiz, a southpaw who hails from Fresno.

In the co-feature, junior featherweight contender Jose Salgado faces Javier Gallo in a 10 round bout.

Salgado (35-3-2, 28 KOs) knocked out overmatched Erik Argaez in his last bout on July 30. In his previous bout in May of 2015, Salgado, who is ranked number 11 by the WBC, was stopped at the hands of Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, who upset Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez on March 18.

Gallo (23-13-1 1 NC, with 12 KOs) has won his last two bouts after going winless in his previous six.

Featherweight Alberto Torres (8-0-2, with 4 KOs), who hails from nearby Sacramento, faces Jose Silveria (17-20, with 6 KOs) in a six round bout.

Three more fights will round out the Don Chargin/ Paco Presents card.
