Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is convinced that his version of Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) would knock Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) out.

Mayweather, who simultaneously holds the WBC/WBA titles at welterweight and at junior middleweight, won a twelve round decision over Cotto in May of 2012. Cotto captured the WBC middleweight title last Saturday night with a tenth round TKO of longtime beltholder Sergio Martinez.

"It won't be the same fight. Miguel would knock him out this time. Mayweather can't move anymore. I don't think he can get away from Miguel's punches. Miguel would get him out of there, but I don't think he'll fight us. I think he'll fight someone else, but I would love to get that fight for Miguel," Roach said.

Mayweather has a return date of September with no opponent named. Cotto is being targeted to return on December 6 or December 13.
