Roach: Algieri Ain't Rocky, This Ain't a F****ing Movie!

By Radio Rahim

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is very annoyed with what he believes to be arrogance from Chris Algieri, who vowed to dominate WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night at the Venetian in Macau, China.

Roach is also tired of hearing about Algieri being the "Real Rocky" and how Algieri is a superstar in the making. The veteran coach is expecting Pacquiao to overwhelm and stop Algieri inside the distance.

"He's not fighting Ruslan Provodnikov, he's fighting Manny Pacquiao. Ruslan is a young up and coming fighter without experience. If Manny gets him in a bad position, he's not going to blow the fight and not finish the guy. He's a veteran. Algieri is in way over his head. I'm not worried about this fight at all," Roach told BoxingScene.com.

"He is deep water. He's so cocky. He better back it up because I think Manny is going to go out there and knock him out in the first round. He's under my skin. He thinks he's a superstar already. They think he's Rocky Balboa. This ain't a f***ing movie - I can guarantee that."

All America would be on the Algieri bandwagon off a Paq upset. An Italian White college educated good looking stay at home NYC Champ would own the country. Algieri will become America's darling and biggest star with a win over…
I think some higher up suits WANT Algeri to win. Think "great white hope"
What!?! You forgot Klitshcko? how about Kovalev, and GGG, and Lomachenko, Marco Huck, Provodnikov? There's no need to invent a "white hope."
Yawwwwwn! Can someone wake me when the Pacquiao hype train finally leaves the station? This is 2014... not 2004. Pac & Roach are yesterdays news and mainland mainstream fans are over it already. We all know who the only people…
