Once again, Nicaraguan boxer Ricardo Mayorga, 39-years-old, is planning to return to action in the boxing ring, but the former two division champion is also planning to make his debut in Mixed Martial arts (MMA). During a crowded press conference at the press conference in the Casino Pharaohs of Managua, Nicaragua, Mayorga was present to discuss a boxing return on February 22nd as part of a show that will be organized by the property development company Omega, and take place at the Casino Pharaohs.
Nevertheless, Mayorga clarified that his debut in MMA will take place between April and May. And he said that he received permission from promoter Don King, who approximately three years ago filed a lawsuit to prevent the boxer from his MMA debut in the United States.
Mayorga has not fought since March, 2011, when he was stopped in the twelfth round by then WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto in a Las Vegas battle.
