Ramos-Rigondeaux WBA Purse Bid Ordered For 10/10

By Hilmar Rojas

The World Boxing Association has ordered mandatory purse bids for two title fights. The first, featherweight champion Rico Ramos will defend his belt against mandatory challenger and interim-king Guillermo Rigondeaux. In the second fight, welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko has to face international champion Brad Solomon.

Ramos has 20 victories and 11 knockouts, while the Cuban accumulated a record of 8 wins and 6 knockouts. Neither has a loss on their record.

For his part, Solomon has 17 wins with 7 KOs and no defeats, while the champion Sechenko has a whopping 32 wins without a loss and 21 knockouts.

The purse bids will take place on October 10th at the WBA's office in Panama, and Executive Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza will begin the bids at 11:00 am.
