The junior welterweight world champion of the WBC, Victor Postol (28-0, 12 KOs), has disputed everything that is being claimed by WBO champion Terence Crawford (27-0, 19 KOs) and his team.

Team Crawford have made it very public that they wanted Postol as the opponent for February 27th in New York. They claim Postol turned them down and said allegedly said that he required a few more fights to prepare.

Crawford has since selected veteran Hank Lundy as his next opponent for the February date on HBO. Postol's opponent and return date are undetermined at the moment.

Postol says he was never presented with an offer for the fight so there was never anything given to him to reject.

He wants more than anything to get Crawford in the ring for a unification.

"I never turned down the fight with Crawford. Terence is the opponent that I want to face more than anything. Immediately after the victory over Matthysse, I publicly stated that I would be glad to unify the belts in a fight with Crawford. But, unfortunately, I did not get any proposals or even heard about his interest in this fight," Postol told boxing news Ukraine.

"This is without question the biggest fight which is currently possible in the light welterweight division. Crawford's promoter is Bob Arum, and he is my promoter. We both box on HBO and we are currently free from obligations to make a mandatory defense. In short, there is nothing that stands in the way of making the fight. It is simply the desire of his team. But it seems that Crawford did not want to take a risk and avoided a fight with me just like Danny Garcia did for over a year."

"When I heard that the next opponent will be Lundy, I was disappointed. I'm sure there was a similar feeling among the majority of boxing fans. I do not want anything to take away from Lundy: he is quite skilfully, strong and a willful fighter. But regardless, he does not belong going up against the top fighter at junior welterweight and he does nothing for Crawford. Perhaps Lundy will be able to give Terence a relatively competitive fight, but to win - no. "

"If Crawford is really worried about his legacy like his coach says, then he should not be wasting time on mismatches - and should fight the best. Terence, let's do it for history and the fans. Fans want this fight, this is the fight I want. The only question is - do you? "
