San Juan, Puerto Rico - The boxers of Team Puerto Rico visited his home of a former champion who brought boxing glory to Puerto Rico and the world, Wilfred Benitez, who was made the Honorary Captain of the team and given a donation of $2,000. In an atmosphere of camaraderie and appreciation, Benitez agreed to meet with the members of Team Puerto Rico at his home, along with his sister Ivonne Benítez, his nephews and immediate family.

At the time of the donation and being made the Honorary Captain, Benitez said emphatically, "Viva Puerto Rico Team"

Benitez, a world boxing champion in three weight divisions, was the youngest world champion in boxing history.

"Being able to help someone such as Benítez is not only an honor, but a duty for everyone, for all of the joy he provided to this island be in his presence and be able to help is something I will never forget," said Javier Bustillo, chairman of Universal Promotions.

Team Puerto Rico Boxing  is composed of the decorated fighters: César "Junito" Seda, Jr. (20-1, 15ko's), José "Sniper" Pedraza (2-0, 2KO's), Thomas Dulorme (11-0, 10KO's), Jonathan "Butter" Gonzalez (13-0, 13KO's), Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle (12-0, 10KO's), Hector "El Flaco" Sanchez (19-1, 9KO's), Kenny "Batllestar" Galarza (14-1 , 14KO's) and Jorge "Machito" Maysonet (3-0, 2KO's).

"I've seen many of his fights his skill was of another world. Benitez was truly special. It was good to help," Seda Jr. said.

For his part, José Pedraza said, "I grew up watching him fight and it was impressive to see him in action. He had it all. It's really special for me, to see him in person. "
