Photos: Omar Chavez-Emilio Julio Final Press Conference

By Rafael Soto

Culiacan, Sinaloa - Emilio Julio (20-7-2, 13 KOs) sent a direct message - "I'm going to slaughter you" to once beaten welterweight contender Omar Chavez at the final press conference. The fight takes place this Saturday at the Palenque de Gallos.

In response, Omar (27-1-1, 20 KO1) said that he trained harder than ever, and regained his confidence and hunger for boxing, and declared - "we will see a different Chavez. I have always respected my opponents in the ring, but I think I'm going to make the Colombian swallow his words."

"Fighting in Omar's country does not scare me, so I recommend that you watch the fight because I'm going to slaughter him," he said.

"I hope that he's as strong a fighter as he says he is, because I always come forward in search of exchanging punches. It will be a very tough fight, I'm sure, as I am also sure that I will win and knock him out," said Omar.

In the co-feature, undefeated WBA flyweight world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (25-0, 25 KOs) will face Manuel "Menny" Jimenez (11-2, 5 KO) in a ten round non-title fight.
