Photos: Odlanier Solis Works Hard For Thompson Rematch

By Reynaldo Sanchez

Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis 20-2-0 (13 KO's) is training for his next fight at the Jorge Rubio’s gym in Miami, Fla. Solis, 34 years old, is getting ready for a rematch vs. Tony Thompson. Solis lost to Thompson last March by way of split decision in Turkey in a closed contest. Now Solis is training alongside Jorge Rubio with the purpose of recovering the Continental American title.

The Solis-Thompson rematch will be held in Budapest, Hungary on March 27 and two weeks ago Odlanier open his training camp for this fight.

"The last fight was a controversial decision and this time I will not let to Thompson hear the bell of the twelfth round," Solis said in Miami.

"Solis is focused on returning to the highest level, this fight is important because Odlanier can return to the place he had before losing in Turkey. And we go to Hungary to win, to find a shot at a world title," Rubio said
