Photos: Miguel Cotto Maps Out a Huge Promotional Year

With a summary of fourteen events held in 2012 between the squares of Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, New York, Mexico and the Dominican Republic - promoters Miguel Cotto and Hector Soto begin a new season full of great events.

Miguel Cotto Promotions, with H2 Entertainment, managed to solidify a great partnership with WAPA Television Station to jointly launch the series "Boxeo Boricua WAPA 2". This is a modern concept of presenting good boxing on television, through two-hour live shows to air on Channel 2 Sports WAPA in Puerto Rico, and from coast to coast in the United States by WAPA América - including extensive coverage and a simulcast of the event through the solid interactive platform that gives users the internet through WAPA.TV .

"BOXING BORICUA WAPA 2" will make its grand debut on Saturday February 23 at 9:00 pm presenting the headliner "SASSO VS. VÁZQUEZ II ". Also in action will be the tough slugger Jose "Chiquiro" Martinez, the new sensation Carlos "Chicano" Cotto, and the quoted Starling Cordero and Alberto "El Explosivo" Machado, among others.

"We are excited to begin this new series and work hand in hand with WAPA TV, and to give fans a solid television platform to enjoy them at home. Here we present the new generation of the most talented fighters of Puerto Rico," said the four-time world champion Miguel Cotto.

Meanwhile, businessman and promoter Hector Soto said he felt committed to presenting exciting battles for viewers:

"We always work to be fighting evenly and well able to give fans quality and competitive fights. This new series will be used to develop future champions of Puerto Rico, "said Hector Soto.

"Our commitment is to offer sports fans interesting programming and quality. We are very excited about this partnership because we can also give exposure to these new fighters that will give great glory to Puerto Rico and give them the opportunity to make themselves known in Puerto Rico and the United States through WAPA America," said the General Manager of the station WAPA 2 Sports.

More events internationally.

Besides launching its new series by WAPA and WAPA 2 Sports America, companies Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment announced that approximately six events will be held in Puerto Rico as part of the Fox Deportes series, in association with Golden Boy Promotions. The first event will be held on April 6 in Aguas Buenas. In addition, the promoters announced their plans to conduct several events in Puerto Rico pertaining to the international hit series "Solo Boxeo" on UNIMAS, starting in May.

They also announced their agreement with the prestigious television network SHOWTIME, to have two ShoBox events in Puerto Rico, with the first one taking place this summer.

"We will have a year full of great events with great fights. We are very excited to bring these big chains to Puerto Rico where we can showcase the talent that we have," said Miguel Cotto.

Miguel Cotto announced his return to the ring

Meanwhile, Cotto officially announced his return to the ring for this coming fall.

"I'll be back soon in the fall, and will fight under my own promotional company, and we will run the entire event as we did with my last fight. We are working on the details of the fight and we will announce them later," Cotto said.
