A succession of body shots dropped Averlant twice in the opening three minutes, and a left hook to the body also earned British heavyweight Dave Allen a first-round win over Samir Nebo.

In a bloody battle with Glenn Foot that went the distance, Robbie Davies Jr was crowned British super-lightweight champion by unanimous decision, also taking Foot's Commonwealth title.

Francesco Patera ruined Lewis Ritson’s world title ambitions with a split decision victory to become the new European champion.

Live on Sky Sports from the Metro Arena in Newcastle, Patera won with scores of 116-112 on two of the judges scorecards in his favour, with the third judge scoring the contest 116-112 in Ritson’s favour.

Despite looking like the contest would be one sided early on, Patera continued his good work in the seventh as he landed the more flashy combinations.

Swelling appeared on the left side on Ritson’s jaw and seemed to be causing him problems. Despite still be active with his work, the spite that Ritson usually carries in his shots seemed to have faded.

The fight unexpectedly entered the final round still in the balance, and Patera once again finished the stronger and did enough to take the title home with him

His team rightly celebrated whilst the home team looked despondent in the corner, telling the story of the fight.

I hope Buatsi gets burton soon, will be a good fight and a chance to really prove himself. Yarde keep ducking, he knows that Buatsi is the better fighter.

Errr no he didn't, I don't believe Hearn wasn't Allen's promoter for either and when he was asked before the fight he said he wouldn't have put Allen in with Ortiz if he was his promoter. Its not Hearns fault…
Well he took Ortiz 7 rounds and Whyte 10, so they weren’t the worst mismatches were they? Not to mention Allen’s better now than he was then, so it doesn’t appear to have done him too much harm. Establishment fights…
Hearn put Allen in with Whyte and Ortiz, shocking matchmaking, those fights should not have been sanctioned. He's already had what 3 beatings, one more and it's likely career over?
Well he took Ortiz 7 rounds and Whyte 10, so…
Why was there no report on the Buatsi fight? Nothing much to report but I’m surprised more hasn’t been said about Yarde taking 7 rounds to finish him. Averlant didn’t look in shape. Burton Buglioni rematch please!
Looks like we…
