Mexican slugger Jose "Chon" Zepeda knows that he can't afford to make a mistake on Saturday night, and his only option is to win - as his goal is to claim a world title fight.
Today was the weigh-in ceremony and the world ranked Zepeda had no problems to make the weight, which was agreed for 141 pounds, and the Venezuelan had great difficulty to shed off 3 pounds, so he was given two hours to lower his weight by at least two and he fulfilled it.
Everything is ready for the headliner in a spectacular fight this Saturday, in the Municipal Gymnasium of Tecate, Baja California.
Zepeda (29-1-0, 24 KO's) and Domicio Rondon (14-5-0, 10 KO's) have very special reasons to look for a spectacular victory. The "Chon" could fight the WBO Lightweight World Championship within the first quarter of 2019, and therefore can not afford to lose. Domicio wants enter the world rankings and get the big fights, and a victory over Zepeda would opens those doors for him.
The matching styles of both fighters, who have the same technique of boxing and exchanging punches, will draw a real fire fight.
