Photos: Jose Benavidez Jr. Putting in Work at Media Day

Phoenix -  Jose Benavidez Jr of Phoenix shook out today at the Benavidez Boxing Gym to wire in for his big bout on Top Rank's 'Homecoming' fight card at the Tucson Arena on December 12. Photos by Rhonda Costa

Benavidez Jr., the interim WBA welterweight champion, will take on Sidney Siqueria of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Benavidez Jr has a record of 23-0, 16 KOs, Siqueria is 21-9-1 with 13 KOs.

Hall of Famer Michael Carbajal was also at Media Day. He is managing and training flyweight phenom Johnny Tijerina of Phoenix. He will make his pro debut against Luis Espinoza of Phoenix. Luis is also in his pro debut.

Two-time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez will take on Ernie Sanchez of the Philippines at the Tucson Arena. Oscar, who was born in Mexico, then moved to Tucson where he grew up, returns home for his 'Homecoming' bout.
