Photos: Floyd Mayweather Reveals Nasukawa Fight in Japan

In a shocking announcement, Floyd Mayweather Jr. appeared at a press conference in Japan and said he had signed with Japanese mixed martial arts promotions company RIZIN Fighting Federation to fight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year's Eve in Saitama.

The undefeated 41-year-old, who has won world boxing titles in five different weight divisions, has never fought professionally in mixed martial arts and it has yet to be decided what format and rules the fight would follow, he said.

It's not expected for Mayweather to compete in a full MMA contest.

Mayweather's last bout took place in August of 2017 when he beat UFC superstar Conor McGregor with a tenth round TKO at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The victory ran his record to 50-0 and earned him close to $300 million.
