Photos: Chavez Jr. Decisions Lyell in Hometown Return

At the Estadio Banorte in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, close to 12,000 hometown fans turned out to watch WBC silver middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (42-0, 30 KOs) win a ten round unanimous decision over rugged contender Billy Lyell (22-9, 4 KOs). Junior middleweight contender Saul Roman (34-8, 29 KOs) was able to recover from a knockdown to stop Michael Medina (24-3-2, 19 KOs) in the second round with a barrage of punches.

WBC interim-super bantamweight champion Jackie Nava (23-3-2, 11 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Frede Gonzalez (6-7-1, 2 KOs). The scores were 99-91, 99-91 and 100-90.
