Nottingham Arena, Nottingham - Carl Froch (29-2, 21KOs) demolished previously undefeated Lucian Bute (30-1, 24KOs) in five rounds to capture the IBF super middleweight title. Froch becomes a three time world champion. Froch started faster than usual and then picked up the pace in every round. He started battering Bute in the third, nearly stopped him in the fourth, and then closed the show in the fifth.

A Stevenson (IBF#2) Rodriquez (IBF#3) title-eliminator should be ordered.
