Photos: Bryant Jennings Putting in Work For Luis Ortiz

By Reynaldo "Papi Chulo" Sanchez

Heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings (19-1, 10KOs) is training hard at the Boca PAL Gym in Boca Raton, Florida. Jennings has a dangerous fight scheduled as he's set to face hard-punching Cuban contender Luis Ortiz in an HBO televised fight on December 12th for interim-WBA world title.

The fight will be held at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. In his last fight out, Jennings suffered his first career defeat by way of a twelve round unanimous decision to Wladimir Klitschko on April 25th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The winner of the Jennings-Ortiz will place in himself in line for a crack at the WBA "regular" world title which is currently held by Ruslan Chagaev - and ultimately a shot at heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko.

Ortiz (23-0, 20KOs) was last in the ring on October 18th, when he battered Matialas Vidondo in three rounds to capture his interim-WBA belt on the Gennady Golovkin-David Lemieux HBO Pay-Per-View undercard.

Ortiz is going give him a good hiding. Ortiz is class, with a solid amateur background. Jennings is a janitor who only took up boxing because he was broke. Levels.

I'm not trashing Jennings at all, he is a good bloke and a good fighter... But the very real and serious possibility is there... That Klitschko purposely carried Jennings to give his career a boost, intrigue fans etc.. Because they…
