With great enthusiasm and confidence to win the title, Dominican boxer Argenis "Storm" Mendez arrived on Tuesday in Guadalajara, Jalisco, ensuring that the he's ready to defeat the hard-hitting fighter Juan Carlos Salgado. They will clash for the vacant super featherweight title of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), which is going to be held at the Coliseo Olimpico on September 10.

He arrived from Los Angeles, California, where he closed his preparation towards the fight.

"The truth is that I've come here very well prepared. I've been working hard and looking forward to this fight because I want to become world champion, that was my dream and now I'm so close and I won't let the opportunity go," said Mendez upon his arrival to Guadalajara.

"I waited a long time for this fight and I feel very confident of winning," Mendez said.

The boxer is ranked at number one by the IBF and although he is not a puncher, his boxing ability is very strong and based on speed, which causes despair for his opponents.

"I have good shot, but my talent is based on speed, so I hope to give a great fight and win," he added. "I've been watching [Salgado] fight, he is a very good boxer, but I rely on my boxing skills and my mind is only focused on success, and I'm not thinking about anything else."

On Wednesday, Argenis will continue his training at the gymnasium of Rafael Guzman in the capital of Jalisco.
