Photo: McWilliams Arroyo in Top Form For Roman Gonzalez Clash

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- Within a week of his world title bout, 2008 Puerto Rican Olympian McWilliams Arroyo weighed in at 115.4 pounds today at the World Boxing Council (WBC) 7-day weigh in for his clash against Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" González, WBC flyweight champion, on Saturday, April 23, at The Forum in Inglewood, California, televised on HBO.

Arroyo (16-2, 14 KOs) was more than two pounds under the maximum allowed by the WBC 117.6 (5%) at this date.

The gold medalist of the 2009 World Championship, the 2007 Pan American Games and the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, will travel on Tuesday to California to complete his training en route to the fight versus Gonzalez (44- 0, 38 KOs), who also reigned worldwide in the 105 and 108 pounds.

The fight between Arroyo and González opens the HBO telecast at 10:00 pm, next Saturday, followed by the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) middleweight (160 pounds) monarch, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs), of Kazakhstan, defending his belts against American Dominic Wade (18-0, 12 KOs).
