Callum Smith and Rocky Fielding both easily made weight ahead of Saturday's British super-middleweight title showdown.

The pair clash in their hometown of Liverpool - live on Sky Sports - and Smith tipped the scales at 11st 13lbs 5oz [167.5-pounds], with underdog Fielding just two ounces lighter.

Smith and Fielding then squared up to each other before nods of recognition and a few words were exchanged. Smith's trainer Joe Gallagher also appeared to address his counterpart Oliver Harrison.

Smith, who can join his three brothers in becoming a British champion, said after weighing in: "I do it quite comfortably, to be honest. You just want to get in and fight but everything's done now and I just need to do what I need to do - and that's perform.

"I'm not really a trash-talker so I'm not going to start now, but during the head to head I told him everything was done. It's time to walk the walk. Everyone's talked and now we've got to do it. I hope he's ready.

"These are the fights I want to be involved in. The city is talking and it's sold out. I'm excited. That's what I'm in boxing for. Every fighter feels pressure and I feel I've got to keep winning if I've got to be a world champion.

"I'm a puncher as well. I've never showed signs of being hurt in the past against far bigger punchers than Rocky Fielding. I think it'll come down to who's the better fighter and I believe that's me. I believe I'm better in every department.

"It's a big fight but the added incentive is the British title to make the set and become the fourth brother to win one. It's an achievement we're all proud of as a family.

"I believe I'll win and win comfortably. I do believe I'll get the knockout."

Former world champion Ricky Burns takes on Josh King on the undercard, and the Scot weighed in at 9st 7lbs 9oz [133.9-pounds], with the visiting Australian slightly heavier at 9st 8lbs 3oz.

Also in action on the night is British lightweight champion Scott Cardle and he weighed in at 9st 8lbs 4oz for his bout with Sean Dodd, who came in bang on the 9st 9lbs limit.
