Cesar "Junito" Seda (24-1, 17 KO's) will return to the ring on May 18 in Atlantic City, New Jersey - according to his coach and father, Cesar Seda Sr., who hopes the upcoming fight will be some form on an eliminator for 118-pound title under any sanctioning body. The main event of the card that night, televised by Showtime, will feature a junior welterweight fight between Lamont Peterson or Lucas Matthysse.
"We were first offered a fight on April 27 in England and then on May 18 in Atlantic City. I hope it's an elimination bout. Junito is ready for a world title fight. We helped Rocky Martinez with sparring, doing rounds of 10 and 12 several times," he said.
"We are hoping that a sanctioning body will give us the opportunity. He is rated in all organizations. And the promoter, Golden Boy, will do their part. Let's see if this year they will give us that opportunity. Leo Santa Cruz did not seem to like a fight with Junito. He went up to 122 and we were willing to fight him over 10 rounds and he did not accept. We are ready to deal with anyone."
