Pedro Campa vs. Marvin Quintero Set For February 18

By Rafael Soto

One of the strongest prospects of Mexican boxing is Pedro "La Roca" Campa, who will return to the ring next Saturday February 18 in a featured fight from the Municipal gym in the beautiful port of Guaymas, Sonora. The event will be promoted by Zanfer Promotions and televised by TV Azteca.

"La Roca" Campa (22-0, 18 KOs) will have his strongest test of his career when he faces world ranked and former world title challenger Marvin "Cachorro" Quintero over ten rounds in the super lightweight division.

A challenge will undoubtedly be present for the 24-year-old Campa, to face the experienced Quintero (29-7, 25 KOs), who has fought on the main stages of the United States with high caliber fighters and has already tried to win the IBF lightweight world title.

Quintero, 30, is left-handed fighter with a very complete boxing background and also has an impressive punch in both fists and is trained by the Quirarte family in Tijuana.

"We are aware of the challenge that Quintero represents, but that is what boxing is - going up levels, facing the best, and because of the styles that we have it will be a good fight and hopefully it will provide a great spectacle to the public," Campa said.

"I can not lose in front of my people. I will give everything as always in the ring. I am backed by the great preparation that we did since the beginning of December.

Campa lives and trains in Hermosillo with Alfredo Caballero and his team.

Box Azteca's boxing evening will air all over Mexico and will showcase pure action as the former national champion of Hermosillo, Sulem Urbina (3-0), will face Mexican fighter Kuroma Yang (2-1, 1 KOs) at Flyweight.
