Pacquiao on Mayweather Jr. Fight: Cross Your Fingers!

By Edward Chaykovsky

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has the internet on fire, after stating that HBO and CBS, the parent company of Showtime, are having discussions regarding a potential fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao has told everyone to cross their fingers. He hopes the fight takes place in the first half of 2015. The Filipino boxer will first face undefeated Chris Algieri on Saturday night at the Venetian in Macau, China - and his entire focus right now is on Algieri.

If the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight takes, it will land in the first six months of 2015, according to Arum. The veteran promoter would like to stage the fight at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

“Cross [your] fingers that hopefully that fight will happen. As long as he’s in boxing and I’m in boxing there’s a chance it will happen,” Pacquiao said. "What’s in my mind is this fight. I don’t want to underestimate my opponent and take him lightly."

Manny should be sending Floyd a royalty check for promoting his fight because with out Floyd nobody will be talking about Pac or Algieri.
