WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao has responded to the recent barbs from WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Last week, Pacquiao took to the social networks to take at the credibility of Mayweather. Mayweather created serious headlines when he appeared on Tuesday before the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and told members of the commission that numerous scenes on his most recent "All Access" reality series were completely staged to create drama and controversy on the program.
Pacquiao is pushing to face Mayweather in a very lucrative unification in 2015.
"Floyd Mayweather's testimony to the commission on All Access' authenticity tells me everything I need to know about his desire to fight me," Pacquiao wrote on the social networks.
Mayweather returned fire on the social networks, posting a photo of Pacquiao's knockout loss from the fourth battle with Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012 - and writing that Pacquiao was desperate to get paid.
"My new boxing DVD is coming soon and is called '3 Ways to Sleep.' Back, Face and Butt and I'm Falling & I Can't Get Up. Miss Pac Man is broke and desperate for a pay day. Your Pay-Per-View numbers are a joke."
When asked for his take on Mayweather's response, Pacquiao told GMA News:
"I'm not angry at him," Pacquiao said. "I still feel sorry for him, because he acts like an uneducated person. It's pitiful to me, and I'm praying for him."
