Fernando Beltran, President of Zanfer Promotions and promoter of Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs), says the Mexican supertstar has yet to make a final decision on his future. Marquez, 39, will either announce his retirement or continue to fight - with a fifth clash against Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) being discussed for a tentative date of September 14th, says Beltran.
If Juan Manuel Marquez decides to continue boxing, he would have a fight in April prior to his fifth bout with Pacquiao in September.
According to Beltran, Marquez will return in Mexico on either April 13 or April 20 - depending on the date selection for Pacquiao's next fight.
The two possible opponents being mentioned for both, says Beltran, are Jessie Vargas (21-0, 9KOs) and Vyacheslav Senchenko (33-1, 22KOs), who recently retired Ricky Hatton.
"Marquez is the one who will decide whether he fights. We are thinking about serious opponents, someone who would make for a good fight. Jessie Vargas and Vyacheslav Senchenko have been mentioned [for us and] for Pacquiao, and perhaps they will allow us choose [the opponent] first," Beltran said.
