Pacquiao Fan Dies, Too Excited Over Algieri Drilling

by Edward Chaykovsky

Nobody in the sport has more rabid and loyal fans than WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

A story broke over the weekend that a man in the Philippines assaulted his brother over watching a "pirated feed" of the Pacquiao fight. The man felt "it was wrong" and a heated argument led to a physical confrontation.

And more interesting story, according to ABS-CBN News, is a 50-year-old man dying from a heart attack because he got too excited over the damage Pacquiao was doing in the sixth round, when Algieri went down twice and took a lot of punishment.

A neighbor said Jessie Lao was watching the fight at a neighbor's house when he suddenly fell down while everyone was celebrating one of Pacquiao's knockdowns during the sixth round.

A local physician is actually advising Pacquiao fans who have heart ailments to keep calm when watching the boxer's fights.

Lao was not the only one, a 60-year-old man in Naawan, Misamis Oriental also died after falling ill while watching the Pacquiao-Algieri match.
How is this possible? Dude must've had a pre-existing condition. Still, it's a shame.
high blood pressure and high cholesterol is common in the Philippines and amongst Filipinos in general.
Don't they get the Pac fight for free in the Philippines? Why do they need to pirate a feed?
they pay to watch it live but it airs on regular TV about an hour or two after the live broadcast.

This in my opinion is worse than when that one guy got shot for dissing Mayweather. I mean a guy jumped on his brother for watching a Pacquiao fight for free? This is a dumb situation and an even dumber…
