Manny Pacquiao doesn't see the size of Miguel Cotto being an issue on November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao challenges Cotto for his WBO welterweight title on HBO pay-per-view. Pacquiao gives Cotto the edge in size and power but he doesn't see that being an issue in the fight. He doesn't think Cotto is very fast with his punches.
“He’s strong and can punch, but he’s not that fast. The size isn’t that big of a difference, but size doesn‘t matter. We just need to see who is the best in the ring,” Pacquiao said.
Pacquiao and his trainer Freddie Roach view their advantage in speed as the big difference in the fight. Everyone, including Roach himself, have brought up the fact that Shane Mosley also had the clear advantage in the speed department when he faced Cotto in 2007. Cotto was able to neutralize Mosley's speed and win a close decision. Pacquiao is faster than Mosley but not physically bigger or stronger.
