Sundsvall, Sweden - Otto Wallin, 20-0, 13 KOs, won the vacant EU and Swedish titles at heavyweight with a clear win over Adrian Granat, 15-2, over twelve fast-paced rounds. Wallin dominated the fight with his slick movement, southpaw style and better technique against the heavy punching Granat, who kept chasing, and kept missing throughout the fight.

Wallin scored well to the body and Granat was hurt in the eighth but dug deep and finished the round strongly.  In the eleventh he appeared to have Wallin in trouble for the first and only time in the fight but Otto slipped away and boxed on safety in the last round knowing the win was in the bag.

It was a fast-paced fight - especially for heavyweights and Wallin, trained by Joey Gamache since turning pro, showed good moves. Granat, since a few months trained by Jonathon Banks, tried very hard and kept coming showing good fighting spirit but was overall outboxed and it was obvious by Banks instructions that his new pupil didn´t do the things they had worked on in the gym.

At the end it was scored 117-111, 117-112 and 118-110.

For the winner there might be a fight for the EBU title before the year is out.

Mikaela Lauren, 30-5, won the vacant IBO female super welterweight title with a close ten round majority decision over German Verena Kaiser, 10-1.

It was scored 97-93, 96-94 and 95-95 after ten hard-fought rounds where Lauren´s better skills and experience won it for her.

Kaiser was strong and had a heavy right hand and fought pretty much as a novice but still made it close and for the 42-year old Lauren this might be it.

IBF Baltic champ Sven Fornling, 14-1, retained the title with a ten round unanimous decision over Czech Karel Horejsek, 12-9-3. It was scored 97-93 twice and 99-91. Fornling boxed well to begin with but got in trouble in the middle rounds when the strong but limited Horejsek scored with some heavy right handers. Fornling looked wobbly a few times but came back and closed the fight strongly to win the fight.

Super middleweight and local hero Rocco Wadell, 5-0, outscored Hungarian Mark Krammerstodter, 3-2-1, over four and won every round but was made to miss a lot by his much shorter opponent. Krammerstodter scored with with a few counters and made Wadell work hard for his win.

Light heavyweight Robin Safar, 6-0, outscored Croatian Josip Perkovic, 4-5-1, over six. It was scored 60-53 on all cards. Safar started slowly but upped the pace for a strong finish. Perkovic was cut on the nose in the third and had was hurt by a right in the fifth and had to take a standing eight count. In the sixth Perkovic was just in it to last the distance and he did as Safar posed a bit too much.

Middleweight Oliver Flodin moved to 3-0 with a unanimous four round points win over Aliaksandr Dzemska, 5-4. Flodin scored well in the first two but could never hurt his opponent, who landed with some sharp counters of his own. In the final two Flodin´s better conditioning took over and he won on 40-36 on all cards.

Team Sauerland´s and EC Boxing´s show at Gardehov was off to a fast start as heavyweight Agron Skamici, 13-0, knocked out georgian Giorgi Tamazashvili 1.05 into the first with a bodyshot. Tamazashvili looked every bit a soft touch.

In the second fight of the evening heavyweight Albon Pervizaj, 8-0, stopped another Georgian in Irakli Gvenetadze, who was retired by his corner after getting up from a knockdown at 1.23 into the second. Gvenetadze was cut on the nose and was fighting a losing fight but it was an early retirement.

Both fights were scheduled for four.

A third off TV fight at heavyweight - David Loy vs Dusan Krstin - was planned but fell through at the last moment.
