Oscar Valdez, Jessie Magdaleno To Train in Guadalajara, Mexico

World champions Oscar Valdez and Jessie Magdaleno are on pace to move their training camps to Guadalajara, Jalisco, and must report on January 7 to begin serious training for their respective commitments, according to their mutual manager Frank Espinoza of California.

According to the renowned manager, the area in Guadalajara has ideal facilities for the fighters to make a solid camp towards a year full of great challenges, and after chatting with trainer Manny Robles, they agreed that they will come together with a different preparation on Mexican soil.

Valdez and Magdaleno are planning to defend their respective world titles, which are both under the World Boxing Organization, on March 10 on Californian soil.

The two champions are scheduled to arrive in the first 10 days of January to Jalisco soil, and they will also be accompanied by Antonio Orozco, Emilio Sánchez , Joselito Velázquez and Raúl Curiel.

It is even known that Robles would be willing to take another of his boxer, Irish star Michael Conlan, who like Oscar and Jessie is promoted by Top Rank, and with whom coach Robles has done a great job with since his professional debut after two Olympic cycles, in London 2012 and Rio 2016.

"We've talked with Manny, with the fighters, and I think it's an interesting opportunity to change the air, the guys are going to be focused, they'll have a place to run, where to train, there's plenty of talent in Guadalajara and when something is needed, we'll be able to make adjustments to ensure those things get there," said Espinoza to ESPN Deportes.

"They asked us to report to camp in the first days of January, we have been told that the facilities where we will have to train are very good and and the location is good, because we will be at home and there are plenty of talents to work with," said Joselito Velázquez.
