According to the World Boxing Council, citing trainer Joel Diaz, WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa is potentially going to return on August 16th against mandatory challenger Daniel Estrada (32-2-1, 24KOs).
The would be the second fight of the year for Figueroa (23-0-1, 17 KOs), who won a twelve round split decision over amateur rival Jerry Belmontes a few months ago.
If the date remains solid, Figueroa-Estrada could be part of Golden Boy Promotions' upcoming card at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Shawn Porter will defend his IBF welterweight title against mandatory Kell Brook and WBC champion Sakio Bika will defend his title against Anthony Dirrell.
