Odlanier Solis To Possibly Return in October, Eyes Vitali

Heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis is still at "St. Wolfgang Hospital“ in Bad Griesbach (Germany) waiting for his next knee surgery after suffering a bad knee injury in the WBC heavyweight champioship bout against Vitali Klitschko on March 19th. In a first surgery the arterior cruciate ligament in his right knee had been replaced and his meniscus had been sewed. On April 15th the articular cartilage damage will be fixed.

This Tuesday (April 5th) the Cuban former amateur standout celebrated his 31st birthday although he didn’t want to eat the cheese cake presented by ARENA and the hospital crew.

"I will try it just to be polite“, says Solis. "I am very careful with my diet at the moment. Once I can leave the hospital I want to start training right away to return to the ring as fast as possible.“

Solis is scheduled to return to Miami around April 20th to start his rehab training. Accordung to Dr. med. Heinz-Jürgen Eichhorn, "La Sombra“ could be ready to return to the ring in October. "I hope that Vitali will give me an immediate rematch“, states Solis.

"I would suggest to do the fight in Cologne again with free admission for all the fans who had bought a ticket for the first fight. They spent a lot of money to see a great battle and a great show. That’s exacty what I would give them if Vitali has the balls to face me again.“

VK will be gone by the time he has healed, had a tuneup, and beaten 1 or 2 decent fighters to earn a shot at VK again.

I respect that he acknowledges the fans deserve more than what he gave them, but he isn't the one putting the fight on. K2 would still get a site fee ad tv money, so they'd bank even without charging admission,…

Quit whining, Spongebob, you already wasted Vitali's time enough. Go beat Boytsov or Helenius and then tell us you want another title shot.
