Odlanier Solis Destroys Dominique Alexander in One

Heavyweight sensation Odlanier Solis impressed the audience at Miccosukee Resort in Miami with a devastating first round k.o. win over journey man “Diamond” Dominique Alexander.

The three-time world amateur champion and 2004 Olympic gold medallist dropped his opponent twice, the second time after 2:55 minutes Alexander lay face down on the canvas when referee Frank Santore jr. counted him out.

It was the 14th win in as many pro fights for “La Sombra” who had just recovered from a hand injury and fought under the guidance of his old amateur coach and Cuban trainer legend Pedro Diaz for the first time as professional.

“Solis showed that he fights in a league of his own”, says promoter Ahmet Öner. “Now we will match him with world class opposition to keep on bringing him to the top fast.”

“I am the future of the heavyweight division”, states Solis. “Nobody in the world can beat me. I will be the next undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”

Damn, a lot of sharp criticism here. In reality he only came in 3 pounds heavier than his last fight, following a 5-month layoff and an injury. He also scored 8th and 9th round kayos in his past two fights…

What a disgrace to Cuban Boxing. Every damn Cuban boxing fan looks up to this guy as the future of the HW division and this guy brushes everything off and keeps getting fatter and fatter. Erislandi Lara & Yuriorkis Gamboa…

The result doesn't surprise me. The former cruiserweight Alexander was also easily KOed in round one by Wlodarczyk. Solis should be fighting better opposition by now. A video of the fight is here: http://video.yandex.ru/users/ptichcka/view/21
