'The New Blood' Series Continues at The Doubletree

By Steve Kim

As the calendar turns officially to the summer, 'the New Blood' series continues at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California on Friday night presented by Thompson Boxing.

"We have one of Danny Roman's stablemates, Isaac Zarate, who's always tough," said Alex Camponovo, the General Manager and matchmaker for the company, which developed the current WBA 122-pound belt-holder, who fought last week on Showtime and defeated Moises Flores.

"He'll be our main event. He's going to fight a very rugged guy in Ramiro Robles, who actually went rouns with Danny early in his career when Danny was the NABO champion."

Camponovo continued - "We also have Manuel Mendez, we'll see what he can do this time around. He's going to be fighting an undefeated kid, Gilberto Espinoza. We have Saul Sanchez, who's a terrific body puncher, a bantamweight. And then we'll see for the first time, Brandon Valdez, a phenomenal super bantamweight that is 10-0."

This seven-fight card will begin at 8 pm (PT) and be streamed like on the Thompson Boxing Facebook page and ThompsonBoxing.com.
