One of the most respected trainers in the sport, Hall of Famer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, felt his countryman, Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, was the loser of last Saturday's rematch with Gennady Golovkin.

In a closely contested fight, Canelo handed Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs) his first career defeat at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo secured a twelve round majority decision, with scores of 114-114, 115-113 and 115-113.

In the first bout, the two rivals battled to a controversial twelve round split draw.

Nacho was not that impressed with the first contest, but he was very impressed with the action from both boxers in the second meeting.

In the first bout, Canelo used his legs and moved around the ring while using his boxing skills. This time, he came forward and stood right in front of Golovkin, and he never stopped throwing punches for the entire contest.

The veteran coach would like to see the two of them face each other in a trilogy fight.

"I liked how Canelo stood there right in front and I have a lot of recognition for him, but I think Golovkin won the fight," Nacho told ESPN Deportes.

"The first one did not convince me that it was a big fight, but this time it really convinced me. It would be nice to have a trilogy to really figure out who is the best."

Nacho believes a third meeting will indeed happen, and even a fourth.

If a third fight were to happen, the target would obviously be Cinco De Mayo weekend - which falls in early May of 2019.

"I think after this fight there will be a third and a fourth, because everyone is going to fill their pockets with money, mainly [Golden Boy Promotions CEO] Oscar De la Hoya, and they will not prevent the path of making a third," Nacho concluded.
