Mormeck's Promoter Would Love a David Haye Rematch

By Rick Reeno

Joe DeGuardia, the American promoter for Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22KOs), advised BoxingScene.com that he would love to stage a rematch with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23KOs). The two boxers fought in a cruiserweight title fight in 2007, with Haye getting up from the canvas in the fourth round to stop Mormeck in the seventh.

"Mormeck is probably going to return in April. We're working on another step up [in competition]. I would love to get him David Haye," DeGuardia said to BoxingScene.com. "They had a very exciting fight at crusierweight. Why not do it again at heavyweight?"
