Full of optimism, the manager Manuel "Cochul" Montiel, who was strong fighter in the 70's star, said that his son and pupil Fernando "Cochulito" Montiel is in great condition, and ready to defend his WBC and WBO world bantamweight titles on Saturday in Las Vegas against Nonito Donaire of the Philippines.

Manuel said Fernando boxed for eight rounds on Saturday at his gym in Los Mochis, Sinaloa and now the entire team has packing to travel over to Las Vegas, but there will be a promotional stop in Los Angeles.

Fernando confirmed that this encounter will be his final bout at bantamweight before moving up to the featherweight division to begin his run at a world championship at 122-pounds.

"Cochulito" admitted that he struggles with the scale to make 118-pounds, so it's better for him to move up to 122.

Montiel decided to have his entire preparation for this grueling event in his homeland in order to be close to his family, his wife and children.
