Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed Fighting 9/11 in Las Vegas

by David P. Greisman

Junior welterweight prospect Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed will appear on the non-televised undercard of the Sept. 11 show at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas featuring featherweight Oscar Valdez vs. Chris Avalos in the main event, according to Reed’s publicist, Lorin Chvotkin. Valdez-Avalos will air on TruTV.

Reed, a 22-year-old from Waldorf, Maryland, signed with Top Rank last year. He is 15-0 with 8 KOs, with his last appearance coming in a June decision win over an 11-1-1 foe named Luis Joel Gonzalez.

His opponent will be Antonio Canas, according to Chvotkin. Canas is a 35-year-old from Chicago who is 10-1-1 with 4 KOs. That lone loss came via technical knockout to Adrien Granados in late 2012.
