American heavyweight contender Mike Mollo (20-3-1, 12 KO) has confirmed that he got an offer to face undefeated Artur Szpilka (12-0, 9 KO) of Poland. The bout between the two is possible at the beginning of next year in Chicago, Illinois. The 32-year old Mollo is out of boxing since his draw with Gary Gomez in August of 2010. Szpilka’s last ring appearance took place in June in Lodz, Poland, when he scored unanimous decision win over an American veteran Jameel McCline.

"I'm in really good shape. I train twice a day six times a week. [People from Szpilka’s team] called me recently to talk about a bout which could be made in January or in February. Andrzej Fonfara is planning to fight [in Chicago] and they want Szpilka to be added to the undercard. They asked me if I'd like to face him. I answered: 'Yes, of course'. However, I haven't got any contract yet. I’ve seen some Szpilka's fights. He's a young and very strong fighter, but he has to learn a lot. He possesses good handspeed and can embrace it nicely, but you need to train for a long time to get good in this sport," Mollo said.
