Miguel Cotto Tells Mayorga: Dogs Who Bark Don't Bite

By Rey Colon

Ricardo Mayorga came to Puerto Rico with his mouth blazing. He made some very harsh comments in the direction of Miguel Cotto, including attacks on the Puerto Rican's personal life, as the two exchanged words at the press conference held at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelat. The two fighters would nearly come to blows at the end of the press conference when Mayorga shoved Cotto.

"May God bless the land of all these beautiful women. I will fight on March 12 to earn the your love. I'm going to win and I'm going to knock him out in four rounds to show that he is finished. You'll have a nightmare. And with great respect, the Puerto Ricans, on March 12, will have to wear lack shirts while watching him lose. I'm better than him and I'm going to knock him out," Mayorga said.

Soon after, it was time for Cotto to speak, who always appeared calm and while trying to restrain himself from Mayorga's verbal attacks.

"Thank you all for being here today. Voy a ser muy corto pero muy preciso. I will be very short but very precise. I congratulate Ricardo Mayorga by talking less trash you talked to me in New York. He has seven weeks to continue talking trash, but as they say in Puerto Rico, a dog that barks does not bite. He has seven weeks to continue barking and we'll see on March 12 who is bitten by whom," Cotto added.

[QUOTE=jreckoning;9986722]You know what Cotto says isn't exactly true. When I was a kid I used to deliver papers. This dog at this house barked like a mofo. Not on a leash, yapping like crazy, not very big, but not small…

Lol I am rooting for Cotto in this one but I hate to break it to Cotto, when you see a Pit bull barking at you, do NOT get close to it. It WILL bite you.

I would have given a prime Mayorga a good shot to beat Cotto, but Mayorga has definitely seen better days. he looked very bad in his last fight. Mayorga will likely be stopped...possibly to the body. or at least the…
