After his convincing win over Argentine contender Jonathan Victor Barros from last Saturday night in Poliforum Zamna in Merida, Yucatán - where the puncher retained his WBC super featherweight world championship for the third time, Miguel Berhcelt already wants to get back into the ring to make his mandatory fight.

But it is not just any fight. The contest, which should be held in the coming months, is already gaining the interest of the fans.

It will be against the always dangerous Miguel "Mickey" Roman (60-12, 47 KOs) in what is expected to be an explosive clash between Mexican fighters of shock, bravery and power.

The tension between the two boxers began a few months ago, when Roman accused Berchelt of running from him.

Because of the ongoing trash talk, Berchelt has promised to badly damage Roman in the ring.

"I have never shied away from him. I fulfilled my previous commitments as a champion. Román is no one to make demands, he was just lined up as he should be at his level. Now I will comply with my mandatory fight that was ordered by the regulations of the best boxing organization , the WBC, and we will simply face him and bring Román back to reality, back to where he should to be," said Berchelt (34-1, 30 KOs).

"Roman has talked a lot and it is time to teach him a lesson of humility and respect. We are going to knock him out, tear off his head, I only hope that the negotiations will be finalized to define the venue and the date - so we can meet in the ring and there he will feel my power."

Berchelt's coach, Alfredo Caballero, said the strategy is to give the "Alacrán" ten working days of rest, and then return to training.

"We are going to execute a plan that was already designed to fight with Roman. Berchelt's capabilities are better than Roman's and he will simply defeat him to continue with the great fights that await the Scorpion," Caballero predicted.
