Johnny Muller has offered his opinion ‘Super 4’ cruiserweight final between Micki Nielsen (22-0, 14 KOs) and Kevin Lerena (15-1, 8 KOs) on Saturday night at the Emperors Palace Casino in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Muller has fought both men during the course of the tournament, suffering a knockout defeat to Lerena, who he had previously beaten, in the quarter-finals, and a unanimous points loss to Nielsen in the semi-finals.
Having shared the ring with both men, the fighter from Roodepoort is predicting an exciting contest between his former foes.
‘’They are both very good fighters,’’ says Muller. ‘’Micki is a very strong boxer, while Kevin is more technical. I think it’s going to be a brilliant fight.
‘’It will be a tough fight for both of them. They both look like they are in good shape, and they will both be giving it everything to win.’’
When asked who was the tougher opponent for him, Muller gives the Danish fighter the edge over his domestic rival.
‘’For me, Micki was the tougher opponent,’’ he said. ‘’He hits very hard. He broke my jaw in the second round, and I had to continue for the remaining eight rounds with a broken jaw. He keeps coming forward and is very strong.’’
Despite this assessment, Muller refuses to make a prediction, and has wished both boxers luck for Saturday’s final.
‘’I’m going to be supporting both of the guys,’’ he says. ‘’I wish the best for Micki and for Kevin. It looks like they have both trained very hard, so may the best man win!’’
