Michael Conlan recently had his homecoming opponent confirmed –– and now a number of undercard fighters have been added to the show.
The Top Rank-promoted prospect returns to Belfast for the first time as a professional next month, exclusively live on BT Sport and BoxNation.
Conlan (7-0, 5 KOs) has a flawless ledger since turning over in the wake of Olympic disappointment in Rio back in 2016.
And Conlan will face former WBO super-bantamweight world title challenger Adeilson Dos Santos of Brazil at the SSE Arena on June 30.
It has already been confirmed that Conlan will be flanked at the Arena, where fellow Ulsterman Carl Frampton claimed the vacant WBO featherweight interim world title back in April, by a whole host of mouthwatering clashes.
Paddy Gallagher will meet former world title challenger Gary Corcoran, while Tyrone McKenna meets Phil Sutcliffe in a rescheduled showdown, Tyrone McCullagh and Joe Ham vie for the vacant Celtic title at super-bantamweight and there is a rematch between Jono Carroll and Declan Geraghty for the former’s IBF Inter-Continental super-featherweight crown.
But that is not the end of the card and on Thursday, MTK Global, which manages a number of fighters that will appear on the bill, revealed that three fighters from its stable will be afforded exposure on the card.
Local prospects Gary Cully (4-0, 2 KOs) and Lewis Crocker (5-0, 5 KOs), both of whom have had experience of the venue previously, as well as the WBO European super-flyweight champion Sunny Edwards.
Edwards (7-0, 3 KOs), 22, has two back-to-back stoppage wins on his ledger and was last in action in March.
There is also confirmed action on the card for Taylor McGoldrick and Padraig McCrory, while Lewis Benson will take on Johnny Coyle in another tasty match-up.
Further undercard additions to Conlan’s highly anticipated homecoming outing will be disclosed in due course.
Meanwhile, Boxing Scene understands that Paddy Barnes, the three-time Irish Olympian, will be in a meaningful fight on the card.
